New life for the Cales Fonts promenade at the Port of Mahon

The Port Authority of the Balearic Islands (APB) has completed the restoration of the wooden walkway that runs along Cales Fonts in the Port of Mahon, maintaining the slab quay-type and a traditional style adapted to the surroundings. At the same time, the walkway has been widened by a further 2.5 m.
The work, carried out by Inmaproco, S.L. at a cost of €128,314.45, provides citizens with a pleasant coastal walk, while at the same time solving a structural problem that existed on the previous walkway. An underwater inspection revealed that there was significant damage in the concrete footings located at the base of the steel piles.
In addition, there are plans to moor sailing and motor boats up to nine metres in length on the quay.
